Mary Lambrechts has been our RCIA Director since 2012 and really loves her job and the vibrancy of Sacred Heart Parish! The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a beautiful process that welcomes adult non-Catholics or those adult Catholics completing their Sacraments, into the fullness of the Catholic Church. She loves to share the Catholic faith with others and enjoys the opportunity to see people grow through the RCIA process. Additionally she directs the RCIA program at the Church of Nativity.
Mary is a native of the Johnson County area, attended Cure of Ars grade school, Bishop Miege High school and Benedictine College. She is a parishioner at Holy Cross parish and is married to Bob, an attorney at Lathrop & Gage and has two children—an adult daughter who resides in Berkeley, CA and a son who is at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. In her spare time, Mary loves to read, mostly theology or spiritual reading, but also historical novels. Her favorite Scripture verse is from Colossians, because it is a reminder of what it truly means to be a disciple of Christ: “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another…and over all these put on love, the bond of perfection.” Col. 3:12-14
