06-24-2024Facilities Master Planning Committee Update

We have officially hired SFS Architecture to assist us on creating a new master plan for our parish campus! The Committee feels very fortunate to be working with Kelly Stindt, Dana Vos and Kelsey Mahoney from SFS.

The most important part of this process is to hear from our parish community. We will do this in the following ways:

Why a Facilities Master Planning Committee?

05-16-2024Facilities Master Planning Committee Update

It became known through the Parish Planning Workshop held in September 2023, the desire to re-visit our facility master plan. After approval from the Archdiocese, we formed a Facility Master Planning Committee (FMPC) and began meeting in February of 2024. They will be charged with assessing our entire campus, interviewing and selecting an architect firm to help guide us through this master plan process and approving the final master plan.

05-02-2024Facilities Master Planning Committee Update

We now have a great opportunity to focus in on the next steps of where we want to have SHOJ head towards.

The committee has met three times so far.

We are in the RFP process and soon going to be choosing an architect.

Going forward, there will be continuous updates on what’s going on and how to keep the SHOJ community included. These updates will be in the flock note, some bulletin announcements, Mass announcement and we will have a Tab online with a time frame and history of where we are in this endeavor.

Hello Sacred Heart Parishioners. It is with great joy and anticipation for the coming of the Lord that I write you. This year's Christmas card is included in the video below, along with a "walk-through" video tour of the church construction (one of your gifts). While it is a little longer than other videos, there is much information in it, as well as great video and explanations of different aspects of the enhancement. I know your time is busy, but my hope and prayer is that you watch the video in its entirety.

Special Announcement from Fr. Pat

Hello Everyone! I want to share some exciting news with you. We have received a restricted gift, from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, to finish Phase II (Narthex) of our Church Enhancement Project. Yes – I was taken aback myself – and very grateful to say the least. It should be noted, no money is being used from any SHOJ accounts.

That’s the first piece of good news, the second is this…We are going to begin construction soon, and it will be completed in the same time frame as the Nave enhancement. It just so happens all of our construction folks, as well as the architect, can still do phase two along with the Nave simultaneously. This should not affect any of our current Mass Times and “other activities” that occur in the Church building. There will be some mild nuanced changes and they will be communicated when necessary. Target date to be back in the church is the weekend of March 4-5, 2023. God is good!!

Dear Sacred Heart,

That's right! Construction begins on the church's worship space and will last approximately four to five months.

Construction of the church nave (worship space) will begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.  Unfortunately, as originally planned and hoped for, we will not be able to occupy the church while construction is going on.  Therefore, we will need to celebrate "Weekend Mass" in the Multi Purpose Center.  The good news however, the construction time is only expected to last four to five months.
