I am so grateful for the hard work of our selfless facilities crew in dealing with this years rough winter! On that note, be assured they are working diligently to make things safe. Please be advised however, that today with the temperature in the teens, combined with ice and snow, it’s making it more difficult than normal to quickly clear parking lots and sidewalks.
While much progress will be made today, use caution when exiting your vehicle and walking in the parking lot or sidewalks over the next 48 hours. Please also use the paths that are clear and advise your children to do the same. You can also wear shoes that are appropriate for the weather.
On a separate but similar note, remember that we close our facility due to inclement weather based off the De Soto (or USD232) school districts decision to close or stay open. With this in mind, we always monitor them closely and will communicate immediately that our parish facility is closed should that be the decision.
I think we’d all agree it’s been a long and tough winter and are praying that the next 41 days will pass quickly to Spring! Until then, and at least for the moment, our facility remains closed for all activities today, Thursday February 7th.
