Youth Ministry at Sacred Heart of Jesus is growing and evolving! Our new Youth Ministry Coordinator, Jen Zans is excited to both introduce and re-energize youth activities for Junior High (7th-8th grades) and High School (9th-12th grades) youth. Our goal with Youth Ministry mirror that of the USCCB in that we aim to:

  • Empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

  • Draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.

  • Foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

Comprehensive Youth Ministry not only animates and evangelizes young people, it also serves as a foundation to help young people grow on their lifelong journey into the mystery of our Catholic faith, gradually discovering why we believe what we do and practice as we do. This vision gives young people a deep and genuine hope and the resilience of character to imagine a future of discipleship lived in the world.” From A Vision of Catholic Youth Ministry, page 38 by Robert J. McCarty. The seven components for a Comprehensive Youth Ministry Plan (from USCCB) are:
