Infant Loss
The loss of a child, at any stage, is a true loss and can bring about deep pain within the hearts of the parents and other loved ones. If you are experiencing this grief, please know that your baby is so loved and your Sacred Heart community is here to support you.
We encourage you to visit the Archdiocese Miscarriage Support Page, which includes many helpful resources such as books, prayers, burial information, honoring the baby’s life, how to support loved ones, and more. In addition to the resources listed there, Grieving Together and After Miscarriage are also excellent books, along with Some Babies for reading to children. The Archdiocese also has a list of Catholic counselors.
Gabriella’s Little Library is a beautiful ministry started by a Sacred Heart family - their mission is to help every parent have an opportunity to connect to their baby after loss.
If you, or someone you know in the parish, is experiencing or has recently experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, our Mother’s Circle has some more tangible ways we would like to offer to help through this time. Please visit this form to indicate a need for meal deliveries, someone to walk with you through this time, prayer requests, and more.
Later Loss
In some cases, in a pregnancy several weeks along, families may learn of the loss of the child and await delivery. This ministry serves families in several ways, including having delivery kits available for those who will need to deliver a baby at home. If you are in need of one of these kits, please be sure to fill out the above form, as we keep a kit on hand for those who may not have time to order one.
Alexandra’s House is also an excellent local resource for those facing a difficult prenatal diagnosis, stillbirth, or infant loss.
Finally, there are bereavement doulas trained to walk families through an anticipated delivery. Some recommended doulas are:

May God bless you and your family.
