The Facility Master Plan Committee is excited to announce that the master plan for the entire Sacred Heart of Jesus campus is complete! Many hours of meetings and prayer went into the development of the plan, and we look forward to presenting it to the parish soon!
READ MOREHappy Advent! The Master Plan Committee and SFS Architecture have been prayerfully and diligently meeting for the last couple of months to make sure the new Master Plan for Sacred Heart of Jesus is ready. We had some great Town Hall meetings in the fall to give everyone the feedback of the surveys that the parish filled out at large. Thank you to all who participated in those.
READ MOREQ: What is the time frame for this project?
A: The Master Plan is expected to be completed by mid-December. In the second quarter of 2025, we plan to conduct a feasibility study with a representative group from our parish to gauge support for the plan. If the feedback is positive and we are in a good financial standing, we will then seek the Archbishop's approval to launch a Capital Campaign to fund the project.
Q: I've got the sense from talking to parish groups that the scheduling capabilities for meeting spaces may be as much of an issue as the actual space limitations themselves. Could group leaders be approved to have some self-scheduling capabilities? The way it was described sounded like the calendars were manually managed and you had to speak to someone each time your group wanted to meet or change time/location.
A: Sacred Heart utilizes an online event calendar for scheduling meeting spaces. While a staff member manages all space requests and updates, this makes sure that we are maintaining oversight to avoid any room conflicts.

READ MORESFS Architects presented the survey results at a town hall meeting at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. The session provided insights into community needs and fostered dialogue among parishioners about future developments and improvements.
SFS architects have conducted 5 different programming sessions with Church leadership, church staff, school staff, school parents and church ministry leads to review their survey results and receive further clarification for the best data.
Fr. Zarse is so thankful for all the responses received from the Facility Master Planning Survey taken earlier this summer! A total of 520 surveys were completed!

READ MOREWe now have a great opportunity to focus in on the next steps of where we want to have SHOJ head towards.
The committee has met three times so far.
We are in the RFP process and soon going to be choosing an architect.
Going forward, there will be continuous updates on what’s going on and how to keep the SHOJ community included. These updates will be in the flock note, some bulletin announcements, Mass announcement and we will have a Tab online with a time frame and history of where we are in this endeavor.
